Kit & Peter’s Nursery Tour

I finally took the time to document the nursery now that it has all come together! You can read more about the planning/decorating process here. It was important to me to design a room that would work for both a boy and a girl, as they will be sharing this room, at least for a little while! I am so happy with how it turned out and it’s a joy spending time in this room with the two little ones. Peter sleeps in his crib in here for now while Kit is still in a bassinet in our bedroom, but it won’t be too long before we will need to convert to bring in a “big boy” twin bed, and then ultimately two twin beds!

The soft greens and pastels in this room give it such a very sweet and playful yet peaceful feeling. I sometimes find it a little tricky to capture the colors properly on camera. I’ve done my best to capture it accurately and you may notice some of these photos are taken from different days so things may look like they are moving around! In any case, I’ve also linked to all sources possible for those of you who are also decorating nurseries and have wanted to know where this or that is from.

The wallpaper is Cole & Son “Hummingbird” in the pastel colorway. The trim is painted Farrow & Ball’s “cooking apple green,” and the roman shades are Scalamandre Swedish Linen Check in “willow.” The rug is Annie Selke’s crosshatch sky micro hooked wool rug

Since there is already so much pattern going on in this room, I went with a clean white for the rocking chair. It is Pottery Barn’s Merced Glider in white linen blend. For the reading lamp, I knew I wanted to use one of Matilda Goad’s scalloped lampshades, so I found the simplest floor lamp base possible from Pottery Barn (Lee Floor Lamp) to pair with it!

The side table is a favorite from Urban Outfitters because it is so cute and a total steal – I know it comes in and out of stock, but is well worth it if and when you can snag it! (In stock at this very moment!)

Above accessories: teddy bear (de Buci Baby), quilt on rocking chair (Lulie Wallace – sadly she doesn’t make this print anymore).

The mirror has the most beautiful scallop detail and comes from Fleur Home, one of my favorite new homeware companies that makes the most stunning mirrors and trims! It is one of my favorite accents in the room.

The dollhouse is another favorite item — from PlanToys, which you can order via Crate & Barrel. I love the lovely details all in natural wood. The Jenny Lind bookcase was a great find from CBkids as it matches exactly the crib. It’s the perfect place to display little knick-knacks and folded quilts. The is crib from Serena & Lily, and CBKids has a VERY similar one at a better price point, linked here.

Draped on the crib is my dream quilt from Projekt Tikkyny (out of stock), but here is a lovely Liberty duvet that would be quite lovely as well. The needlepoint alphabet was a vintage gift from a friend that I had re-framed, and the baskets are an all-time favorite from Ballard Designs.

The beautiful dresser is one of my favorite things in the room as well – it is from Frontgate, but it seems they sadly discontinued it! I hung these lovely antique florals from my mom above it and am so pleased with the little vignette. For changing basket, we used this one from Oli Ella. The paper flower is from the Green Vase and is such a special accent I will try to keep out of reach from little hands! The play kitchen is Milton & Goose, and quite a splurge for what it is, but it is just so chic! I considered it as a furniture purchase for the room as it fits so perfectly in its little nook.

  1. Such a beautiful and peaceful nursery for your babies! Thank you for sharing all the links to the pieces you used. I was able to purchase the wicker side table. I was wondering if you please share the link to the low table underneath the window. You have a photo of Peter sitting on it. I double checked your links and could not find that. Thanks so much.

    1. Unfortunately this is an old hand-me-down and I do not have a source! Thank you so much for your kind words!

  2. Hi! I was wondering if the sky color in the Annie Selke rug is a true pale, light blue? Their website gives a tint of green to it, but it looks pale blue in your pictures. Thanks so much!

  3. How are you liking this rug? Considering getting it but there is only one review on the website and it’s terrible. Such a beautiful room. Thank you!

    1. It’s not a super heavyweight rug so I would recommend getting a good rug pad to go with it! Otherwise love it!
