Our Entryway

A home’s entryway is an opportunity to make a fabulous first impression for guests and visitors, so I put a lot of thought and had a ton of fun designing ours! It incorporates a mix of old and new, sophisticated and playful, and of course, blue and white! I eventually would love to add wallpaper to this space, like a grasscloth or simple stripe — but, all with time.

The marble top bamboo chest we inherited from my parents since they recently re-decorated, and it was one of the pieces I was most excited about incorporating into our new home! So it deserved a spot front and center. It is antique, or I would share a source.

The mirror is an Etsy find, though unfortunately it looks like the shop where I purchased mine has closed, but here is a similar one where you can customize color and size, as I did.

The scalloped rattan tray is from Serena & Lily! I love it and it’s the perfect way to compartmentalize this tabletop — to hold books, trinkets, or the mail!

The hanging plates are from Mrs. Alice (these ones and these ones!) I hung them using these simple and easy-to-use plate hangers from Amazon. I am a big fan of hanging plates in any space — such an easy way to add color, texture and visual interest to walls.

The rattan chairs flanking the chest are wicker (also scalloped) from Amanda Lindroth! I added little cushions we had made for the Provence Poiriers Boutique in Pierre Frey fabric as the perfect little touch of pattern.

The runner rug is Serena & Lily and brings in the perfect shades of blue!

We added some additional touches of Chinoiserie with the framed Gracie panel I’ve had for years placed opposite the mirror, and ginger jar on the chest for good measure! Will link a few similar pieces below for those interested. xx

The Serena & Lily scalloped tray and runner rug really make the space — thank you to Serena & Lily for partnering with us on this post!
