We had such a fun day taking the kids to Lake Compounce, America’s first amusement park! Trips to the amusement park were some of my favorite summer days as a kid, and it was so great seeing my kids enjoy the rides. Lake Compounce has a big section of kiddie rides — Peter was big enough to enjoy all of them, and though Kit was still a bit too short for a few, there was still plenty for her to try! If you’re local, it was just a 75 minute drive from Greenwich and felt like the perfect day trip!
We will be going back for the water park (Connecticut’s largest!) which was closed during our visit since there were some spots of rain throughout the day. It looked like so much fun with options for every age group, from a water playground to wave pool!
Lake Compounce‘s summer concert series is also not to be missed, on their floating stage over the lake! They have a really fun lineup with artists like CeeLo Green! You can view the full lineup here.
