Shortly after I found out I was pregnant, I reached out to Stephanie Sunderland to book one of her maternity photography packages. I knew I wanted to commemorate every stage of this incredible journey into motherhood and that no one would capture it better than her.

It turned out she was also expecting her baby girl Scarlett around the same time Peter was due, which made it all the more special every time we saw each other. Especially now that I have Peter, photos are truly my most prized possessions as they are the closest thing I have to preserving moments in time with him that I’ll never be able to revisit.

So I wanted to thank Stephanie for all of her beautiful images from the past year — from our pregnancy announcement to maternity shoot, her visit when Peter was only a couple of weeks old, to six months. In the day of the iPhone I think people sometimes forget the value of photography as an art.
